I tutor VCE level biology and chemistry, and undergraduate level biology, chemistry,
biochemistry, biotechnology, and statistics.
While these topics can seem dry, intangible, and overwhelming to many students, it is possible
to communicate the material in an engaging and effective way. Lessons are structured around
promoting conversation of key topics so that students are able to understand *how* and *why*
relevant biological and chemical processes take place, which provides a context for the vast
array of information science students are typically required to memorise. Using regular
informal testing to identify key learning opportunities, students are able to get the help they
need, and on the topics with which they need it most. I am able to provide homework
assistance, and additional research/review questions and study material will be regularly
provided to keep students engaged.
Additionally, I am able to provide development of study techniques so that students are able to
make effective use of their time out of the classroom, and develop key communication skills
such as essay and report writing.
As for me, I am currently in the final year of my Bachelor of Applied Science (Biotechnology),
and have previously achieved completion of the following courses at a level of 'High
-Genetics & Molecular Biology
-Cell & Tissue Culture
-Chemistry for Life Sciences
-Maths & Stats
-Animal Structure & Function
-Cell Structure & Function
Having just completed an eight week training intensive at Carlton & United Breweries' National
Laboratory, I am currently available to take on new students.
